Tribute

Donald Eugene Grabill was born February 8, 1957

in Chillicothe, Ohio to parents, Dana Chestine Grabill and Eliza Ann Workman Grabill. He is survived by his sons; Donald Wayne Grabill and wife, Crystal, and Daniel Paul Grabill and wife, Ashley Williams; 7 grandchildren; brother, John Grabill; and sisters, Sheryl Grabill Stone, Bonnie Elliott, and Anita Eury; as well as many other family and friends.

Donald graduated in 1975 from Liberty Union High School in Baltimore, Ohio together with his eldest sister. In 1995 Donald attended Lee College in Baytown, Texas. He graduated with an AA in Accounting in 1999, achieving a 3.05 GPA. While in attendance at Lee College, Donald was a member of Alpha Beta Gamma and engaged in tutoring fellow students.

Donald ran an established contracting business for the Texas Department of Transportation from 1992 to 2009. As part of his career as a long haul truck driver of 18 Wheelers he was able to travel to 38 of the 50 United States, and visited Canada several times during the years of 2004-2008.

When not traveling for work, Donald enjoyed spending time with his boys at church, fishing trips, monster truck shows and car races. Donald and his boys were able to make and share several happy memories during summer trips to places such as Hershey, PA and Branson, MI where they enjoyed several amusement parks, tours and rides like “The Duck”; they also enjoyed trying new restaurants like “Baldknobbers” and “The Good and Plenty Restaurant”.  During this time together, Donald and his sons spent time bonding and enjoying experiences together like catching bass with Daniel and winning the church bake off with Don after receiving the prize for the “tallest cake”. Donald was always proud to see his boys thrive in their personal endeavors such as raising their families, and their pursuit of education. He was able to witness their accomplishments such as attaining volunteer positions with the Highlands Fire Department or positions with companies such as Dow Chemical.

Donald will be missed by all that knew him but the memories of him will always live on in our hearts forever.
