Dennis Lea Hollis Heyen, 78, of Baytown, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in Baytown.
Dennis Lea was born October 13, 1943 in Houston, to parents; Joe Earl and Clara Blasdell Hollis, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Baytown for the past 46 years. She was a graduate of JH Reagan / Heights High School, received her degrees from Southwest Texas State and Prairie View A&M, and a retired educator from HISD and GCCISD. Dennis Lea was a member of Missouri Street Church of Christ, Alpha Delta Kappa, TCTA Board, and the Classroom Teachers Association. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and mowing on the tractor, gardening, travel, and sewing. Mrs. Heyen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 58 years: Richard “Dick” Heyen, sons: Drew Heyen and wife Amanda and Daniel Heyen and partner Sara Johnson, grandchildren: Kegan Adrian, Karsyn Heyen, Kloe’ Solis and husband Andrew, Paul Heyen, and Max Heyen, one great-grandchild on the way: Greenly Solis, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with funeral services at 6 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown. Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the San Pedro Cemetery in Grapeland.
