David Earl “Butch” Whitener, 76, of Baytown, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021, at his residence.
Butch was born November 8, 1944 in Liberty, to parents; Walter and Evelyn Grimes Whitener, and has resided in the Baytown/Mt. Belvieu area throughout his life. He was a graduate of Barbers Hill High School, a veteran of the US Navy with service during Vietnam, a supervisor for Celanese, and member of First Baptist in Mt. Belvieu. Butch also enjoyed wood working, gardening, and playing golf and softball.
Mr. Whitener was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Staci Leigh Whitener, brother: Walter Whitener, and sister: Marie Land. He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Julie Walker Whitener, brother-in-law: Tim Walker, son-in-law: Craig Bourque, grandchildren: Callysta Jade Bourque and Cohen David Bolton, nieces: Karry Land Frost, Arleen Land, and Tina Land Flowers, numerous other relatives, and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2021, at the Crespo & Jirrels funeral Home Chapel with services concluding thereafter.
