Darla Gay West

The sun rose in Baytown on August 5, 1951 bringing with it a new day and new life, Darla Gay West.

On December 6, 2019, the Lord called upon Darla Gay West, and she departed this life peacefully in her sleep of natural causes.

Darla’s passing was unexpected because she was so full of life and energy! She exercised daily and had more energy than someone less than half her age. She was a positive, uplifting, and high-spirited person! 

Darla accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a longtime member of Berachah Church.

She worked part time for Houston Area Shows, her nephew’s wife’s business. She helped with promoting and coordinating vendors for market shows and festivals. She also loved to help decorate the Christmas tree at the shows.

She is preceded in death by her parents Willard and Allene West, and her brother Porter West and wife Carole. She is survived by her brother Don West and wife Christine, her nieces and nephews Don West Jr. and wife Jernae, Donna Fontenot and husband Tim, John Thomas West and wife Christina, Jason West and wife Belinda, and Jana West, great nieces and nephews: Jaci West, Diana, Joseph, and Rikki Yrlas, Philip West, and Kingston West. 

She will also be missed by her best friend of 53 years, Trudy Harrimann, and numerous extended family and friends will also miss her dearly.
