July 23, 2020, Daniel Kristian Perdue went home to protect & serve with the Holy Father.
He is loved by many and calls his fellow officers and Army friends "brothers & sisters."
Whenever a need arises, Daniel is the first to jump in and help. Self-described "finicky, decisive, unreasonable, aspiring custom firearms builder and refinisher." He is all of those things and so much more.
He is a husband, father, son, brother, friend and defender of small fuzzy creatures _ many of whom became enrolled in the “Perdue Executive Bunny Rescue Program." If there was a rabbit in need, Daniel brought it home indeed!
(Daniel almost met his maker much sooner when he brought 8 rabbit guests home to stay!)
There are too many inside jokes and funny stories to tell. His OCD weekly car washing and Lego building adventures with his daughter. We will remember the laughter & love and shed all other traces of his humanness. He is loved and his legacy is one of good deeds, kindness to those in need, and an unwavering love of his family "blood or not."
Daniel has gone ahead to scope out the terrain for all those left behind. He is survived by his loving wife & sidekick of 17 years, Virginia Joseph Schmitt Perdue (VJ) and 11 year old daughter and light of his life Brenna Kristian Perdue of Mont Belvieu, Texas. His parents John & Becky Perdue of Mont Belvieu, Texas. His brother’s family Brian & Laura Perdue (nieces) Rowan and Ryleigh of Oak Harbor, Washington. His sister’s family Allison Perdue Cook (niece) Sophie of Beaumont, Texas. Parents by marriage Col. Charles W Groover &
Jacqueline RS Groover, ESQ of Lakemont, Georgia. Sisters by marriage Jacqueline M Schmitt and (niece) Addie of Raleigh, North Carolina and Catherine E Schmitt, ESQ and(nephews) Jacob and Caleb of Bethesda, Maryland. He will be missed by many beloved Groover, Allred and Perdue family members and by 2 furry bunny children Mr. Fluffypants and Miss Smokey Clover.
There is a novena being said daily in Ireland for Daniel. We ask you to join us in lighting a candle for him.
He was a big fan of Irish music and the weaving of Celtic stories told.
So raise your glass. Say a toast. Retell a story or even a limerick.
Recall his laughter, dry wit and loving nature.
“You are free to soar boo. Rest in His arms until we join in laughter, again.”
Daniel will be interred in the Houston Veterans Memorial. Private celebrations of life will take place locally and in Ireland at a later date.
