Daniel Joseph Baggett

Daniel Joseph Baggett, 75, of Mont Belvieu, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, in Baytown.

Daniel was born October 4, 1947, in Anniston, Alabama, to parents John and Rebecca Watts Baggett and has spent most of his life in the Baytown area.  He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, a veteran of the US Air Force with service during the Vietnam War, a retired registered professional land surveyor, and member of the Rose Hill Methodist Church. 

Dan owned and operated Baggett Land and Boundary in Baytown for many years. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and friends and watching the Astros with his family.  Dan was a dedicated family man whose main goal in life was to be a good father and grandfather.  He definitely succeeded in accomplishing that goal.

Mr. Baggett was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife of 51 years:  Debra Kolb Baggett, sons:  Jason Andrew Baggett and wife Lydia and Joseph Foster Baggett and wife Stefanie, siblings:  Barbara Peterson and husband Pete, John William “Bill” Baggett, Mary Jane Bordelon and husband Terry, Caroline Stelmach and husband Anthony, and Elizabeth Kay Sammons and husband Reid, the love of his life and granddaughter:  Peyton Faye Baggett, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Mont Belvieu Methodist Church with the Rev. William Lucas officiating.  Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
