Curtis L. Junge, 76, of Baytown, died on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Round Rock, Texas.
Curtis was born on April 5, 1944 in Lufkin, TX to Curtis and Ila Ruth Junge. They relocated to the Baytown area where he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1962. A proud Longhorn, he graduated from the University of Texas in 1966 with a BA in Anthropology. He worked as a teacher at Sterling High School when he met and married the former Janis Skeen in 1969.
Lin worked in the chemical sales industry for companies in Houston, Ohio, Louisiana, and finally Oklahoma, where he and Janis lived for 23 years. He retired from Ft. Bend Services in Stafford, TX in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, University of Texas football, the Houston Astros and Houston Texans, and was a Hallmark Christmas Movie aficionado. He was an avid member of the Boy Scouts of America earning the rank of Eagle Scout, and won numerous awards as an adult leader including the District Service Award, Silver Beaver, and Wood Badge.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janis, daughter Kirsten and her husband, Edward Pittman of Buckeye AZ, son Kirby and wife Kenlyn of Round Rock, TX and son Kevin and wife Sharon of Ft. Worth, TX. He had four grandchildren, ENS Dane Pittman, USN, Katy Pittman, Lily Junge, and Timo Junge, and an honorary granddaughter Kandyce Lamon.
Friends and loved ones are invited to visit with the family Wednesday from 4:30 - 8:00 pm at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home, 6123 Garth Rd, Baytown. Graveside service is on Thursday at 10:00 am at Cedarcrest Cemetery, 3010 Ferry Rd, Baytown.
