Clarence J. “Dutch” Taylor, 91, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the Heritage Villa Nursing Home in Dayton.
Uncle Dutch was born August 15, 1926 in Rayne, Louisiana, to parents; Armas and Ophelia Mott Taylor, and has resided in Dayton for the past two years. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer with service during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and later retired from NASA as an electronics engineer. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Mercedes Rita Deshotel Taylor, brothers: Ivy Taylor and Curly Taylor, sisters: Evie Hebert and Amy Dolmage, and grandson: Jared Easter. He is survived by his son: Ivy Taylor of Oregon, stepson: Ron Savoy of Louisiana, stepdaughter: Jackie Guillory of Friendswood, five grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Houston National Cemetery, with services concluding thereafter. Arrangements are under the direction of Crespo & Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services in Baytown.
