Candace Annette Carroll (Candi Cruse), 56, of Baytown, was taken from us far too early and unexpectedly, on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.

Candi was preceded in death by her Father Arthur Cruse, mother Josephine Grace Cruse, Sister Paula Talene Miller, and Nephews Jimmy Brown & Scott Miller. 

She is survived by her Daughter Christy Pressley; son Jamie Cruse; grandchildren John Swinson, Daxon Cruse, Ryker Cruse and soon-to-be Xayda Cruse; Sisters Cecelia Elizabeth Cruse and Sara Eastepp; brother Ronnie Cruse, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and innumerable friends that she considered family and loved as such. 

Candi was first and foremost, an amazing mother to her two children and an absolutely exceptional Nana to her grandchildren. Her favorite way to pass the time was with her family and the friends she loved like family. From shopping with her sisters, to girls trips with her girlfriends and watching her grandkids do everything from fish to football, her family was her life! She was always willing to lend a helping hand to any who needed it! As owner of the local watering hole, Somewhere Else, she greeted everyone with a warm smile and usually a welcoming hug while often being the leader in any attempt to help people. Be it providing a place to gather with friends for celebration or leading the efforts for a benefit for someone in need, she used her tavern as a platform to build friendships, support her family and to spread love and laughter no matter the circumstance! Candi was the salt of the earth, the epitome of generosity and the definition of love and she will be greatly missed by any and all who had the honor of knowing her! 

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Crespo and Jirrel's Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a celebration of life gathering at Somewhere Else September 29th (further details to be announced).
