Brigida "Bridget" Rios

Brigida “Bridget” Rios, 83, of Baytown, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021, in Victoria.

Bridget was born April 12, 1938 in San Antonio, to parents; Armando and Rita Garcia Rios, and has been a lifelong resident of Baytown.  In her younger years, she was employed by the Brunson Theater, then as a nurse’s aid for Baytown Nursing Home and San Jacinto Methodist Hospital.  Bridget spent many years giving compassionate care for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their children. She enjoyed crocheting, art, holiday decorating, playing bingo and slots, and doing crossword puzzles.  One of her favorite activities revolved around the Sylvan Beach and her retirement community.

Miss Rios was preceded in death by her parents, sisters:  Lilly and Linda Rios, and brothers:  Guadalupe, Jesse, and Armando Rios.  She is survived by her daughter:  Emily Sanchez and husband David, granddaughter:  Victoria Perez, grandson:  Steven Perez and wife Sophia, great-grandchildren:  Selena, Sonya, and Sammy Perez, brothers:  Jose Rios and Johnny Rios and wife Esther, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with prayer services at 6 p.m., Thursday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2021, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
