Bret Ryan Drake

Bret Ryan Lee Drake, 28, of Victoria, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, in Houston due to injuries sustained from an auto accident.

Bret was born July 28, 1993 in Baytown to Kristen "Kristi" Drake Polo and Kevin Walters.  He was a graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School, attended Lee College, was a pipefitter's helper by trade and attended Second Baptist Church.  He went to Port Lavaca, Texas 3 years ago for a job and met the love of his life, Stephanie.  Bret enjoyed fishing, his dog, King, and spending time with family.  He loved sports and could dribble a basketball at the age of 2 but baseball was his favorite sport and played for many years in Baytown and Mt. Belvieu.   He had a beautiful smile, pretty blue eyes and lots of charm (and knew how to use it to get his way) and was definitely a MeMe's boy.

Bret is preceded in death by his brother: Brylan Butler, grandfather: Randy Toups and great-grandfather: Doc Hudson.  He is survived by his wife, Stephanie and son E.J. Gilmore, mother:  Kristen "Kristi" Drake Polo, father:  Kevin Walters, grandparents, Carolyn Toups (MeMe) and Ronnie and Phyllis Drake, aunt:  Julie Toups and uncles: Ronnie Drake, Jr., Dustin Drake and Robert Drake and his fur baby, King; numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, with funeral services at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
