Bobby Earl Allington

January 16, 1947 ~ November 23, 2021 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Tribute

Bobby Earl Allington, Sr., was called home on the evening of Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the age of 74.

Bob was born on January 16, 1947 in Howard County, Texas to Arch and Velma Allington. He was the youngest of 4 children. Bob married Kathy Shannon in June 2001 and was very proud of his four children, Flora, Jessica, Bobby Jr., and Jennifer.

Bob was a veteran of the US Navy. In the late 70’s and early 80’s he worked for Hahn & Clay in Houston, Texas before moving to Baytown, Texas. He then worked many years for Jordan TV on Baker Rd. Bob became great friends with the owner of Jordan TV, Larry Heinrich. The two of them became lifelong friends and carried a very mutual respect for one another. Bob always spoke of their friendship and his admiration of Larry.

He had a passion for many things – his family, football, old model sports cars, earning his pilot’s license and flying Cessna Aircraft, Animals (Bob never met a dog that he didn’t befriend), mechanics, afternoon naps, and most of all- food. Bob loved to “experiment” in the kitchen which brought many wonderful meals to the table. If he fed you, you knew he loved you dearly – he was often heard saying “Now that is some good eatin’ ” and “If you leave here hungry, it’s no fault but your own”. Bob had a quick wit and was always ready for a good taunt. He loved making people smile with his quirky sense of humor. If you knew Bob, you loved him. He was a big loveable, fun, often silly man, but on the same note a very quiet, “go with the flow” man. He believed that everything in life happened in cycles, some good, some bad, but that all that occurred in life was by fate. He will be forever missed.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Arch Allington, his mother Velma Rae Bardin (Abbe), his stepfather E.D. Bardin, sister-Barbara Jean Perry, and brother-John F. Allington.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Allington, his sister, Barbara Ann Davis and his 4 children – Bobby Allington Jr. and wife Audrie, Flora Espinoza and husband Frank), Jessica Brown and husband William, and Jennifer Sampson and husband Scott.

Bob was a great Papaw to several grandchildren – Ashleigh, Ryan, Melissa, Isaac, Megan, Alyssa, Addisyn, Morgan, Emily, Tristan and Klarissa. His great grandchildren – Oliver, Jonah, EJ, Kassandra, and Noah, along with many cousins, nephews and nieces.

To honor Bob’s wishes, he will be cremated and brought to his favorite place – the comfort of his own home. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life in his honor at a later date.
