Billie Jean Johnson

Billie Jean Gearheard Johnson, 57, of Old River, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Billie was born November 2, 1961 in Orange, to parents; William Louis Gearheard and Tommie Beatrice Reed Gearheard.  She was employed as a dispatcher for the tug boat industry for many years. Later in life she started her own boutique business.  She also enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents and sisters:  Katherine Kay Sinks and Nelda Faye Cline.  She is survived by her husband:  Douglas Edward Johnson, daughters:  Amanda Jackson and husband Shawn and Renee Godeaux, sons:  Doug Johnson and wife Adrienne,  and Johnnie Johnson sisters:  Lisa Brumley, Brenda Jackson, and Shelly Granger, grandchildren:  Marissa Godeaux, Kammie Godeaux, David Warthen, , Douglas Johnson III, Chris Johnson, McKenzie Trosclair, Shelbey Walker, Aubrey Walker, Ashley Jackson, Emaley Jackson, Makenna Castaneda, Cayden Castaneda, Lukas Chachere, Presli Johnson, and Landon Rhodes, great-grandchidlren:  Austyn Warthen, Dawson Warthen, Dylan Walker, and Grayson Walker, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2018, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at LaPorte Cemetery in LaPorte.

I've finished life's chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole
For I've been invited to the fishin' hole.

Where every day is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don't worry, or feel sad for me,
I'm fishin' with the Master of the sea.
