Araceli Cantu Paiz, 61, of Old River, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017, in Dallas.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m to 8 p.m., with rosary services at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2017, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Chapel with services concluding thereafter.

Araceli was born February 2, 1956 in Monterey Mexico, to parents: Antonio Cantu and Herlinda Rodriguez Cantu.  She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She also enjoyed drawing, painting, and gardening.

Mrs. Paiz was preceded in death by her parents and sister:  Hermelinda Lozano.  She is survived by her husband Enrique Paiz of Old River, sisters:  Celina C. Guajardo and husband Selestino, Delia C. Guzman and husband Gilberto, Alicia C. Lerma, Elia C. Fuentes and husband Albert, Herlinda C. Woerner and husband Steven, brothers:  Tadeo Cantu and wife Imelda, Antonio Cantu, ad Heron Cantu, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friend:  Pam Sorrells.
