Antonio C. Tamayo, Jr., 94, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, in Denton.
Antonio was born January 3, 1929 in Brownsville, to parents; Antonio, Sr. and Maria Cantu Tamayo, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Denton for the past 16 years. He was a graduate of Brownsville High School, attended Texas Southmost College, a veteran of the US Army Air Corps, and a retired aircraft painter. He also enjoyed Fishing and going to flea markets.
Mr. Tamayo was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Guadalupe Gonzales Tamayo, sons: Antonio G. Tamayo, Enrique G. Tamayo, and Carlos G. Tamayo, daughter: Sandra G. Tamayo, sisters: Barbara Recio and Marica De La Garza, and brothers: Casimiro Tamayo, Ramon Tamayo, Roberto Tamayo, and Refugio Tamayo. He is survived by his daughters: Rosalinda Stockard, Yolanda Chavez, Maria Margarita Jimenez, Alice Covey, and Maria Esther Tamayo, sons: Javier Tamayo, Erasmo G. Tamayo, Refugio Tamayo, Rogelio Tamayo, Jaime Tamayo, and Roland Tamayo, 47 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am, with funeral services at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at 1:00 p.m., at the Houston National Cemetery.
