Simona Olachia Del Toro, 93, of Baytown, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, in Baytown.
Simona was born March 3, 1924 in Bastrop, TX, to parents; Adolfo Olachia, Sr. and Maria Alvarez Olachia, and has been a lifelong resident of Baytown. She was a retired hair stylist by trade. Simona was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW Post #912 Ladies Auxiliary, and a former member of The Guadalupanas of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She also enjoyed dancing, crocheting, sewing, bingo, and sports.
Mrs. Del Toro was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Jesus Del Toro, daughters: Geneva Ann Avalos and Maria De Jesus Del Toro, brothers: Natividad Olachia, Ezequel Olachia, and Adolfo Olachia, Jr., sisters: Jesusa Ybarra, Ramona Galaviz, and Juana Elizondo. She is survived by her sons: Luz Del Toro and wife Lola, Antonio Del Toro and wife Mary E., and Carlos Del Toro and wife Lisa, grandchildren: Mark Luman Del Toro, Michael Brent Del Toro, Eric Anthony Del Toro, Joe Adrian Del Toro, Jennifer Denise Mena, Cheridye DeAnn Bryant, Benjamin Jesus Del Toro, Kelly Jo Cabrera, Daniel Nat Avalos, Mary Lena Turner, Rachael Ann Hewitt, Christina Rene Taylor, and Andrea Michele Mayfield, numerous great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, god-children, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends and extended family members from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with rosary services at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, 2/6 at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, 2/7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. James House and Harbor Hospice for their care given to Mrs. Del Toro and The Guadalupanas of Our Lady of Guadalupe for their generosity with the reception preparation.
