Manuel Olachia Elizondo, 73, of Baytown, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018, in Baytown.

Manuel O. Elizondo was born to Manuel R. and Janie O. Elizondo on February 12, 1945 in Baytown Texas. He lived his life in Baytown and was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. 

Early in life he met Cathy M. Elizondo, together they enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  He enjoyed the times with them visiting, singing, and loved playing the accordion for all to hear. 

He was a very proud Grandpa and loved his grandchildren Beth Janell Martin, Jean August Couto Jr.,, Rahnee Marissa Elizondo, and Manuel Xavier Martinez Elizondo IV and his great grandsons Jase Kyle Rojas, and Quincent David Drake. 

Manuel also loved serving the community of McNair for 26 years as Volunteer Fire Chief. He was also a member of Fire Team 11 at Exxon in Baytown. He loved the brotherhood and enjoyed being a Fire Instructor at Texas A&M Fire School, Rescue Training and Scuba Diving with the Fellas. He truly loved being a prankster and tough guy and will be missed by all. May God grant him Grace and Peace and may he enjoy the time together with those that have went home before him. 

Manuel was preceded in death by mother;Janie O. Elizondo and brother ; Louis O. Elizondo. He is survived by wife; Cathy M Elizondo children; John Manuel Olachia, Angelina Olachia and husband James Charles Martin, Manuel Martinez Elizondo and wife Lily Elizondo.  Grand Children and Great Grandchild spoken about above. Father; Manuel R. Elizondo, siblings; Janie Gonzalez and husband Lupe, Robert Elizondo and wife Marilyn, Jerry Elizondo and wife Mary Gail, David Elizondo and wife Janet, Albert Elizondo and wife Karen, and Joel Elizondo and wife Fina. Numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
 

The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with rosary services at 6 p.m., Monday, at the Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Highlands, with services concluding thereafter. Please join us for food and fellowship immediately following the church services.
