Louis William Heller, 91, of Baytown, passed away on June 15, 2017. Mr. Heller was born to Les and Hazel (McDermett) Heller on May 8, 1926 in Millett, Texas. On March 16, 1957, he married Velma (Harvey) in Moscow, Texas. He worked many jobs during his lifetime: rancher, rice farmer, and for over 45 years, as a chemical operator at Ethyl Corporation in Pasadena, Texas. He loved working with his hands: repairing homes for friends, creating wooden toys for children, crafting wind chimes, fashioning decorative knives, and making polished rock clocks. He was a member of Victory Temple in Baytown for almost fifty years, serving as trustee and later as head trustee emeritus. He was a quiet, strong, and deeply caring man who loved his family and his church very much.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Velma (Harvey) Heller, their son, Roy L. Heller, and daughter-in-law, Amy Groves Heller, of Dallas, and grandchildren, Noah J. Heller and Anne R. Heller.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday June 19, 2017, at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home. A graveside service will be the following day at 2 p.m. Tuesday June 20, 2017 at Memory Gardens cemetery. Dr. Charles R. Kyle will be officiating the service.
