Leesa Lanay Harlan, 55, died peacefully on February 4th, 2018 in her home in Baytown, following a courageous battle with cancer. Leesa was born in Baytown, TX, February 24th, 1962 as the youngest daughter of Charles and Diana Harlan.

Leesa thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and especially her granddaughter Kynlee. During the summers she loved hosting pool parties and watching everyone join together. As most of you know, Leesa’s favorite place to be was anywhere outdoors, but preferably somewhere with her toes in the sand and a drink in her hand, where you’d usually see her holding a fishing pole as well. She also had a very strong passion for her job of 16 years with Worley Parsons, where she had multiple friends, who, she’s said, “were her number 1 people!” 

“When you die, that does not mean you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live. So live. Fight like hell, and when you get too tired to fight, then lay down and rest and let somebody else fight for you. “

Leesa is preceded in death by her father, Charles Harlan, Jr.; brother, Brett Harlan; sister, Lanna Doggett; grandmothers, Ewell “Mamaw” Harlan and Velma “Pie” Ernst; grandfathers, Charles August Harlan and Ervin Ernst. She is survived by her daughter, Kassee Stewart and her husband, Kyle, and their daughter Kynlee; mother, Diana Harlan; nieces, Britney Chapman and husband, Colter, and their children, Paris, Payton and Cadence and Taryn Crigler and husband, Mikey, and their children, Nate and October and nephew, Tanner Doggett and multiple friends and family. 

Celebration of life will be held at 1pm at Old River Baptist Church on Saturday, February 10th.
