Laquita Ann Bastian

December 12, 1938 ~ June 25, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Laquita Ann Bastian passed away, at the age of 78, on June 25, 2017, surrounded by her family.  She was born on December 12, 1938, in Tipton, Oklahoma.  She was united in marriage to Lawrence G. Bastian on May 17, 1956, in Hitchcock, Texas.  As a founding member of St Johns Evangelistic Catholic Church, she was very involved and assisted as a Eucharistic Minister, usher, and CCE teacher, in addition to helping with altar duty, church bazaars and funeral dinners.   If there was a need, she tried to fill it.   She was a member of the Ladies of St John, DCCW of Catholic Women, and the Keenagers.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy M Palmer; parents, Dorothy Hollan, James Jewell, and Glen Petty; and brother, James Jewell. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Lawrence G. Bastian; sons, Lawrence Raymond Bastian of Baytown and Wayne Bastian of Crosby; daughters, Audrey Peters and husband, David, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Laura Robison and husband, Ricky, of Baytown.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Terry Walles and wife, Missy, of Beaumont, Joseph Robison and wife, Holly, of Baytown, Kyle Palmer and partner, Stephanie Coker, of Lake Jackson, Kristen Robison and partner, Randy Johnson, of Crosby, Jessica Medina and husband, Jared, of Las Vegas, David L Peters of Las Vegas; great grandchildren, Kaden Robison, Karter Robison, and Kailyn Johnson of Crosby, Josie Robison of Baytown, Adaline Medina and Lincoln Medina of Las Vegas; brother, Homer Jewell of Palestine, Texas; sisters-in-law, Christine Schoeffler and Rose “Boots” Jewell of Texas City; and numerous nieces, nephews and her special “Okie” cousins.

She was a loving mother and homemaker whose grandchildren and great grandchildren were her joy. Her face would light up when they were around and she loved spoiling with the candy she always carried in her purse for them.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home.  A Rosary will be held at 9 a.m. prior to the Funeral Mass, which will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 800 W. Baker, Baytown 77521.  Burial will follow at Sterling White Cemetery in Highlands, Texas.
