Jesse Lopez, Sr., 80, of Baytown, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

Jesse was born December 25, 1936 in San Antonio, to parents; Regino and Lydia Villarreal Lopez, and was a lifelong resident of the Baytown area.  He was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee High School class of 1956, attended Lee College, and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  His was a retired process operator/safety consultant in the petro-chemical industry.  Jesse was one of the hardest working men you would ever meet and his career took him to all corners of the world.  He loved to try new, often exotic foods, and was always able to fit in and make friends wherever he travelled.  Jesse also enjoyed fishing, trips to Lake Charles, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, son:  Jesse Lopez, Jr., and sisters:  Vera Lopez, Yolanda Lopez-Smith, and Angie Rios.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years:  Rosalie Rios Lopez, daughters:  Rosemarie Hernandez (Carlos Hernandez) and Belinda Lopez, son:  Alan James Lopez, sister:  Olga Bravo, brothers:  Regino Lopez, Jr., Henry Lopez, and Richard Lopez, grandchildren:  Erika Lopez, Stefan Hernandez, Jessie Hernandez, Dylan Lopez (Prescilla Sim), and Ryan Lopez, great-grandchildren:  Steven Gavin Montemayor Jr., Soriah Montemayor, Sophia Montemayor, Phoenix Sim, and Luna Rose Lopez, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will greet friends form 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with rosary services at 7 p.m., Monday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Mass of Christina Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Baytown, with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
