Erika Solís, 40, of Houston, passed away on July 15, 2017.  She was born in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leōn, Mexico to Agustín Cavazos and Blanca Saldivar Cavazos on August 7, 1976.  She was a wonderful wife, daughter and mother.  Erika moved to Houston, Texas, where she met her husband, Gerardo Solís.  She had three great kids.  Erika worked as a childcare teacher for over fifteen years and loved kids.  She enjoyed her job very much.

Erika was very family oriented. Her passion was her family.  She enjoyed watching movies and listening to music.  She loved kids and enjoyed spending time with them and taking care of them.  Erika was a follower of Christ and a member of “La Mansión” Church, Seventh Day Adventist (Whole Life) for five years.

Erika is survived by her loving husband, Gerardo Solís; children, Erik Solís, Daniela Solís and Aarón Solís; parents, Agustín Cavazos and Blanca E. Cavazos; brother, Agustin Cavazos and wife, Lilian Cavazos, and their children, Priscila Cavazos and Paulina Cavazos; and sister, Blanca Castillo and husband, Samuel Castillo, and their children, Samuel Castillo, Blanca Sophia Castillo, and Mia Castillo.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017, in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels.  Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston 77039.

Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Gerardo Solís, Erik Solís, Juan Solís, Agustín Cavazos, Agustín Cavazos, Jr., and Juan Saldivar.
