Edward “Eddie” Wayne Martin, 55, of Highlands, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Eddie was born November 24, 1961 in Oneonta, Alabama, a former resident of Baytown, has resided in Highlands for the past 25 years.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting auto racing, and spending time outside with his faithful dog, Dale.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father:  James Franklin Martin, son:  Edward “Brent” Martin, grandparents:  Elbert and Josephine Bickerstaff, great-aunt:  Gladys Collins, and his faithful dog:  Dale Earnhardt Martin.  He is survived by his mother:  Shirley Frels and husband Michael, sister:  Teresa Martin Poplaski and husband Donnie, brothers:  Mike Martin and wife Peggy and Dallas Edwards and wife Kristen, special sister:  Mandy Edwards, nieces and nephews:  James Martin, Megan Martin, Stevi Poplaski, Taylor Poplaski, Casen Poplaski, Jackson Edwards, Angel Martin, Ashton Martin, and Carriko Martin, other relatives, and friends.  Eddie was a friend to all who knew him and always had a smile for everyone he met.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Chapel with burial following at Sterling-White Cemetery in Highlands.
