Dorrace Ellen (Veazey) Carroll, age 92, of San Saba formerly of Baytown, Texas passed away on August 17, 2017 after a short illness. Dorrace was born on November 4, 1924 to Walter L. and Lavita (Davis) Veazey in Burnet, Texas, later moving to the Killeen area.  She married Leron Wilson Carroll on the night of her High School graduation in 1942 and they later moved to Baytown, Texas and raised four children. Dorrace worked as a bank teller for a number of years and became very active on the company bowling league.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and family.  She also loved holidays, shopping trips with her sisters and daughters, and her visits to San Saba.  She was a longtime member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Baytown.

Dorrace is survived by three children; W.D. Carroll and wife Arlene of San Saba, Texas, Dorrace Elaine Leavins and husband Roly of Baytown, Texas, and Sandra Martinez  of San Saba, Texas; two sisters  Molly Waggoner and husband Howard of Loveland, Colorado and Billie Donaldson and husband Gerald of Wharton, Texas; four grandchildren, Dorrace Gail Samples and James Landry of Baytown, Texas, Robert Carroll of San Saba, Texas, and  Deborah Carroll of San Marcos, Texas; six great grandchildren, five great- great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of longtime friends.  Dorrace was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Sally Kay Carlton; two brothers, Wesley Veazey and Isaac Veazey; one sister, Patsy Gilby and one grandson Phillip Martinez Sr.

A Visitation will be held at Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba, Texas on August 21, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., August 23, 2017 at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas with Zeke Flores officiating with a visitation from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  Interment at Earthman Memory Garden Cemetery in Baytown, Texas.
