Doris Nell Maxey Singletary, 80, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at her residence.

Doris was born September 10, 1937 in Appleby, to parents; Clayton and Rachel Richardson Maxey, and a lifelong resident of Baytown.  She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School class of 1956.  Doris was a loving wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and will be missed by all that knew her.

Mrs. Singletary was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 59 years:  Johnnie Singletary, son:  Tony Singletary, daughter:  Lisa Singletary, and sister-in-law:  Betty Vaughan.  She is survived by her daughters:  Johnna Jackson and husband John and Rachelle Fountain and husband Mike, sister:  Virginia Johnston and her husband and Betty Lewis, brother-in-law:  Leroy Vaughan, grandchildren:  Michael, Joshua, Natalie, Kameron, Kelli, Morgan, J.W., Rachel, Hannah, and Christina, great-grandchildren:  Tyler, Jordan, Tristen, Khalia, Kennedi, and Grace, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2018, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown, with interment following at San Jacinto Memorial in Houston.
